Battery B, Fort Clayton

Battery B was located at Ft. Clayton near the Miraflores Locks.

'Bravo' Battery was a gun battery equipped with the M-42 "Duster" a self propelled unit with twin 40mm automatic guns. Its mission was to engage aircraft a lower altitudes. A secondary mission was to provide supporting ground fire.

Battery B "Dusters" were usually driven across the istumus to the Gatun area and then barged across the canal via LCM.  This 1969 Pina trip was photographed by F. W. Cole of HHB.
